Scoutmaster Basic

This course integrates Scoutmaster Position-Specific (S24) with Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (S11). It is a hands-on, outdoor learning experience that places the adult leader in the position of a Scout on a weekend campout. Participants will develop a lived appreciation of the challenges faced by a youth learning to lead. This demonstrates numerous options in designing a successful Scouting program for any unit.

Introduction to Leadership Skills For Troops

Leadership is a vital part of the Scouting Program. Youth in positions of Leadership run the troop. The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles, and the organizational and leadership skills needed to most effectively reach success in that role. Completion of ILST is a pre-requisite for Scouts to participate in the week-long leadership Training Course, National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

Dates to be announced soon!

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

Basic Adult Leader Orientation (BALOO) will help leaders of Cub Scouts become more aware of outdoor activities; and help them use Cub Scout outdoor skills. Learn simple but fun Cub Scout hikes, outdoor games, cooking, knife safety, knots, and more—plus fun and fellowship with fellow Scouters! Each Cub Scout Pack-coordinated overnight event must be under the direction of a BALOO-trained leader.
